Ho Yu “Flying Fish” reaches their peak performance and wins medals in the inter-school competition
Our swimmers have been training hard to reach their potential and perform to the best of their abilities. They were awarded one gold medal, four silver medals and one bronze medal in Tsuen Wan and Islands Secondary Schools Area Inter-school Swimming Championships 2019-2020.
Wong Hoi Ching (S.1) received a gold medal and a silver medal in 50M Butterfly and 50M Freestyle races respectively. She reckons the key to success is regular practice and accumulated experience. With perseverance and good time management, she is able to wisely allocate time for swimming training, ballet practice as well as her studies. Chan Tsz Nam Agnes (S.3) won a silver medal and a bronze medal in 200M Freestyle and 50M Butterfly races respectively. She had a fear of water when she was a little girl. Encouraged by her family, she overcame her anxiety and welcomed challenges without giving up, thus excelling in swimming. Li Wai Fung (S.4) earned a silver medal in both 50M Backstroke and 100M Backstroke races. He believes ‘practice makes perfect’ so every week, he engages in intensive and regular training. Before the competition, he usually does an intense two-hour to three-hour practice session at least four or five times a week. His continuous hard work finally paid off.
Our swimmers have one characteristic in common – unrelenting perseverance. They hold a belief that perseverance helps them succeed not only in competitions but also in other aspects of life.
